Changes in adolescence are to be expected. After all, the the brain undergoes significant developing throughout adolescence into early adulthood. Certain changes are normal, such as seeking more privacy or spending more time with friends; however, changes such as sudden mood swings, withdrawal from activities once enjoyed, or engaging in risky behaviors may be indicative of a problem. If you're concerned about your teen, seeking support through counseling can be a positive step in helping them cope and thrive.
