ABOUT ME
Greg Arbo, PsyD
PSYCHOLOGIST | YOGI
I’m a clinical psychologist in Portland, Oregon licensed with the Oregon Board of Psychology and with the Washington State Department of Health. I specialize in working with teens and their parents, adults, and couples.
My approach as a therapist is to facilitate disciplined and thoughtful dialogues through exploratory questioning and active listening. I encourage my clients to recognize, understand, and disentangle the experiences in life that shape problems. I provide my clients with a comprehensive and expertly tailored treatment plan to support them in achieving their goals.
I believe sustainable relief necessitates a focus on the mind-gut connection and on the interplay between emotion, thought, and behavior. From a more expansive self-awareness and deepened self-understanding, I believe emotional intelligence flourishes and the grip of problems loosens.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in 2020, where I completed my doctoral thesis, Mitigating the Antecedents of Sport-related Injury through Yoga.
In 2018, I taught mind-body wellness courses at Stanford University’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department as a co-founder of YogaX.
I completed my doctoral internship at UC Irvine as a college counselor in 2019, during which time I coached the UC Irvine men’s soccer team though my evidenced-based yoga psychology protocol.
I now serve the Portland, Oregon community as a yoga teacher and co-own Portland Insight Psychotherapy with Dr. Lehman.

INSURANCE
I do not accept insurance and am considered an “out-of-network” provider.
Most insurance plans provide the opportunity to apply for reimbursement when receiving therapy services from an out-of-network provider. If you are eligible for insurance reimbursement, I will provide you with a monthly billing statement for the services rendered and fees paid. You will then be reimbursed for the amount you are eligible.
I can also bill FSA or HSA card directly.
